Kevin Kietzman Has Issues

   If we start to put the pieces of a puzzle together the picture became very clear the past few days... the elderly leaders of the democrat party are being fazed out and don't actually believe the things they've been saying publicly.  President Obama says he's being "aged out" by the younger part of his party and he's right.  But he's not alone.  We take a deep dive.
   Meanwhile, Marco Rubio gives one of the greatest speeches in US history by a Secretary of State on foreign soil at the security conference in Germany.  And yes, it was better than AOC's appearance. Wow, what a difference.
   An Australian influencer that wanted to live on singer Billie Eilish's "stolen land, borderless property" is turned away after being detained at LAX.   KCUR, the liberal public radio station in KC, infuriates it's listeners by giving airtime to Trump supporters.
   In sports, Royals owner John Sherman says they are close to announcing a location and deal for a new stadium.  Gene Taylor has done the impossible at K-State..... he's turned Jerome Tang from the least popular coach in America that nobody supported to a sympathatic figure with an incredible new attorney fighting his cause.
   And Pro Football Focus ranks NFL quarterbacks, we'll tell you where Mahomes is listed.
  Our Final Final is the go-to BBQ experience in KC that convinced Argentina's officials that our cowtown is the perfect place for them to stay during the World Cup.

   Ok, I know.... we didn't get a podcast up this morning, but hey, it's President's Day.
   We were traveling all day right after doing the radio show in the lobby of a hotel.  You may hear some kids in the background and you will definitely hear Cabo woofing at another pup that walked by.  It's near the very end.
   Anyway, we need to move President's Day up and the Jerome Tang situation in Manhattan is one of the all time most embarrassing debacles in the 41 years I've covered sports in KC.  Here ya go...

   What has happened that we seem to have two sets of laws in America today.  From Tucson to Minneapolis and now, to KC... enforcement of the law comes down to one thing for those that commit crimes.  Do you love Trump or hate him?   A woman in KC sets fire to the building ICE wants to use and apparently authorities do not care at all.
   Karoline Leavitt has fun trolling President Obama over voter ID saying Dems are panicked while posting a cool video.  Switzerland has had enough of illegal aliens pouring in and will hold a vote to limit the population of their country.
   In sports, Jerome Tang blasting his players has made the K-State coach famous national as ESPN has a field day with his pathetic words.  The Daytona 500 is set for Sunday... we love the Great American Race.
   Danny Clinkscale has a total meltdown on our Patron's Podcast Thursday about Golf Channel's lead announcer Steve Sands... this is hilarious and you will love it.
   And our Final Final is a USA skier that says too much.

   At his State of the City address, Mayor Q pledges he will reach an agreement with the Royals this year to build a downtown stadium.  If he pulls it off, this will be great for KC.
   Mizzou wins in a wild one at A&M and suddenly anything feels possible.  Meanwhile, Jerome Tang melts down after losing by 29 at a game the students wore paper bags over their heads.
   The Olathe School district, already mired in a cesspool of negative stories, is asking for $389 million in a sham mail in vote.  Don't tell them no.  Tell them hell no!
   KCMO radio's Pete Mundo has received a tremendous national honor as having one of the top shows in America.  Bobby Witt Jr has brought his puppy to training camp and you can follow on the dog's Instagram page.  The Big 12 makes its "major announcement" about a change in KC for the tourney.  The Chiefs make a nice hire for running backs coach.

   We have absolute chaos on the southern border as the FAA has closed the El Paso airport for the next ten days.  Immediately people speculate the Mexican cartels are prepared to fight back on Trump's crackdown by shooting down airplanes.  
   Also on the border in Arizona, authorities detain a man in Rio Rico to question him about the Nancy Guthrie case.  They released him after 7 hours and is not believed to have any connection and that's a problem.  The man is hispanic and you'd better believe the left is going to go nuts over this.
   Trump gives great economic news and a bold prediction.  A senator from Indiana has started a trucker tipline to turn in companies that hire illegal alien drivers, Cuba has cut off international flights as they are running out of fuel on the island and the death of Curt Cobain has a new theory 32 years later.
  In sports, the Royals reported to Surprise, Arizona and much to our surprise, a reputable firm has predicted the Royals winning the division.   The Rangers have the most awesome retro jersey giveway ever later this year and an olympian wins a media and begs forgiveness from his girlfriend on live tv.
   Our Final Final is about teenage golfer Charlie Woods who has big shoes to fill.  He's decided where he's playing college golf.

   We use the word "history" way too much in sports media.  But Monday night was historic at Allen Field House over the most dramatic regular season three hours in years.  We got a sad little whiny superstar sitting out sick, a staffer on press row texting that Darryn Peterson said, "Eff it" to playing and a wildly enthusiastic Bill Self after knocking off the number one team in the country.  Oh, this made up for all the lack of fun at Super Bowl 60.
  Big 12 commissioner Brett Yormark was at the game and says big changes are coming to the Big 12 tourney.  Are they about to pay players for performance?
   Bad Bunny's halftime show would NEVER have been allowed in English, that's for sure.  So why doesn't the FCC  go after the NFL/NBC hard for all the violations in Spanish.  It could be happening.
   175,000 KC residents are now eligible to get their Amazon packages delivered by drones from KCK.  Americans gobbled up a record amount of been in 2025.  Kid Rock hits #1 on the charts while a lesser known artist records an anti-Sprinsteen song for the ages.
  The Royals do the cheapest thing ever and a small plane lands on traffic filled road in Georgia and the pilot must have been very hungry.

   It was a rough weekend for patriotic Americans if you turned on your tv to watch the Olympics or the Super Bowl.   What used to be events that showcase the excellence and pride of the greatest nation in history were anything but that this year as it seems people just want to hate the country Trump leads.
   The Kansas Jayhawks phoned in a win over Utah on Saturday and now host the undefeated, #1 team in the country Monday night and we all know how this will go.
   At just 34 years old, former Royal Terrence Gore passes away from complications during what was supposed to be a routine surgery.  The Super Bowl was a bad game and the halftime show was even worse.  It was clearly an NFL season to forget for Kansas Citians.

   Before we tackle the big game, we ask Stan what the Chiefs can learn from watching the Seahawks and Patriots and how they got here for Super Bowl 60.  His answer will surprise you, not because it's detailed and thorough.  It's because it involves asking Patrick Mahomes to be different kind of quarterback as we start KC 2.0.
   As you may know, Stan famously created a mathematic, interesting and fun board game decades ago that plugs in an entire season's stats so he can play teams against each other with his friends the entire off season.  He's played a bunch of games between Seattle and New England and he will share his results.
   As analyst for the K-State Network, Stan has been courtside for most of the really good teams in the Big 12 and he will rank them in order for us.  Spoiler... KU is really climbing.
   And he shares what it will take for the Missouri Tigers to make the NCAA Tourney.

   NBC Today Show anchor Savannah Guthrie, along with her brother and sister, recorded and released a video where they appeal to possible kidnappers that they are willing to listen about a ranson for their mom Nancy, but they need proof of life.  It was one of the most real, raw, shocking and heartbreaking videos you've ever seen in your life.  This story had all the markings of being historic right from the beginning and it has now captured the attention of an entire nation.
  President Trump called Savannah Guthrie and told her he is throwing the full support of all federal agencies into the investigation as it appears authorities at all levels believe there is a chance Nancy is still alive.  This could be so many things.
   In sports, I've got one player that is more important than any other in Sunday's Super Bowl and have some some easy to understand numbers that back it up.

   The Olathe City Council approved a 165 acre area for a local STAR bond district to be the new corporate home and practice facility for the Kansas City Chiefs.  This was a no-brainer for Olathe.  Officials held a meeting in WYCO as well on Tuesday and will vote to approve their local area for STAR bonds on Thursday.  They say it's small and only includes the new Chiefs area.  We'll see how bit the state of Kansas bond district is somewhere down the road.
   It's ticking me off that KSU media and fans are just now on board with what I told them three years ago... Jerome Tang is an awful basketball coach.  Nothing personal, I wouldn't be any good at it either.  But with an $18 million buyout, these people are focusing on the wrong man. AD Gene Taylor is the person that should be fired and they should cut off all funding to Tang and let him lose horribly for at least another year.  Oh, I've got the right plan for KSU but who knows if anyone in charge is ballsy enough to pull the trigger. And all the KSU media types that have ripped me for three years over this... I accept your apology.
   It wouldn't be Super Bowl week without a grandpa Mahomes alcohol arrest, a Lions fan seems to have a legitimate lawsuit against a whole bunch of people that have given him the Jussie Smollet treatment.  There's a crime podcaster reporting a new break in the Nancy Guthrie mystery.  Chris Cuomo comes clean on complete botching his Covid coverage and a new steakhouse is coming to KC that I'm betting is a better night out than 1587.
