Kevin Kietzman Has Issues

   It's a privilege to welcome Kansas Senate President and Trump endorsed candidate for governor Ty Masterson on the broadcast for the first time.  We'll talk about his expected strategy to skip a GOP debate Friday at Johnson County Community College, what the endorsement has done for his campaign, how he will attack property taxes if elected and much more.  Masterson is the presumed front runner now and here's a chance to get to know him a little.
   Then, Chiefs receiver Rashee Rice is getting out of jail for knee treatment at the hospital.  Maybe, just maybe, there is a little embarrassment in this for him.  I'll explain how.  We also have news from Chiefs OTA's and a hidden injury for one Chiefs star they kept quiet all year in 2025.
   North Kansas City has put a temporary ban in place to pitch a tent in a public space... because the World Cup is here.  Seems like a decent full time idea to me.
   And where the heck are my taco shells?  A KC brand must be having quite a comeback because I can't find any of them.

   Watching a couple great Republican candidates have success in the primaries in California is fun and it does signal something significant.  But don't buy into the hype that Spencer Pratt or Steve Hilton will win their general elections.  California is locked down by the dems in every way imaginable.
   60 Minutes lead anchor Scott Pelley threw a giant hissy fit at the office Monday in front of the whole staff trashing his new boss.  So the new boss wasn't the same as the old boss and fired Pelley.  This is so good.
   Three Argentinian soccer fans on bicycles traveled over 10,000 miles the past 10 months to get to Kansas City.  What we saw upon their arrival Tuesday was just great.
   NBA superstar Steph Curry is taking over $1 billion from a Chinese shoe and sportswear company that has long been known for inhumane conditions for workers... and so far there has been zero backlash because of Curry's liberal privilege.
   The Black Crowes get boo'd and have fans walk out of their concert in Florida after a USA chant breaks out.  Royals closer Lucas Erceg is not the man for the job.  Time for Daniel Lynch in that role.  The Women's College World Series is set and Texas Tech is supposedly the team to hate.  The NBA and NHL finals are underway, this will be a fun few days.
   And our Final Final is an incredibly ambitious plan for 50,000 people to permanantly live on a ship.  You have to hear this.

   The Kansas Jayhawks get exactly the kind of break it takes to have a magical season as Oklahoma wins at Georgia Tech.  Tech was the top team left in the tourney and would have hosted KU with a win.  Instead, Tech is toast and OU is coming to Lawrence.  This thing just got real!
   We got a sneak preview of the new Morton Amphitheater Monday night in Riverside and you're going to love this place.  KC needed it, we deserve it and our quality of life just got a little bit better.  You almost feel like it's too nice for an outdoor venue!
   Multiple reports indicate President Trump had a very heated phone call with Israel's Bibi Netanyahu and it was pretty ugly.  We discuss what it could all mean.
   The Kansas Governor's race got wild Monday, just before the official filing deadline.
    A dude with too much time on his hands checked out all 32 NFL team websites and provides a list of teams that don't celebrate, mention or recognize pride month.  We have a crazy new poll for GOP presidential nominee in 2028, you have to hear how Vance v Rubio is shaping up.
   The Royals are undefeated in June!  Yes, the team got a nice win but we have some player rankings for you that explains exactly why the Royals are so bad.
    The Rams make a big trade, a Super Bowl quarterback is retiring and become an announcer and we've got the first set of confirmed celebrities for the Travis and Taylor wedding.

   The Kansas Jayhawks, for the first time in two weeks, looked lifeless at out of it through three innings against Arkansas.  They trailed 5-0.  Then they explode for 11 unanswered runs and win 13-10 to advance to the Super Regional later this week.  We have the details on who they will play and where.
   Johnson County Community College smashed all kinds of college baseball records this year winning the National Title and finishin 67-3.  Incredible.
   The NBA Finals are set and one bettor is $1.7 million richer because the Knicks and Spurs have made it this far.
   The World Cup is finally here in KC as team Argentina has arrived.
    Vanilla Ice isn't pulling out of "Freedom 250" and doesn't think it's a big deal if anyone plays or doesn't play.   Dr. Jill Biden continues to dish out lies about her husband's presidency and the Big Slick celebs want to bring an NBA team to KC.

 When I reached out to my friend Stan Weber a couple weeks ago to see if he could come on the Pod to talk about the Chiefs schedule, he said, "maybe."
   Turns out, Stan was out of the country on vacation.   His first vacation.  Ever.  No joke.

   It hit me like a load of bricks.  I love watching Trump's cabinet meetings and then heard someone else say the absolute best use of these events would be to make sure children in schools watch them to understand government and civics.  Count me in. 
   ICE "protests" get chippy in New Jersey as Dems have started their summer plan to invoke some violence in hopes of influencing elections in their favor this fall.  Dr. Jill will be on CBS Sunday Morning this week and she finally says some partial truth as we all though Joe Biden had a medical episode in that disastrous debate performance against Trump.
   Friends star Mathew Perry had a live in assistant and that man was sentenced to 41 months in jail this week.  Wait until you hear the details and what the family is saying about somebody they thought was their friend.
   The Yankees just flat out OWN the Royals... what a disaster this baseball season is.   KU tickets were not really on sale yesterday for the NCAA baseball regional and this is getting wild.  The Washington Nationals exec caught on tape is now on leave.  Trump is headed to the NBA Finals and the Chargers quarterback skips OTA's to be with his girlfriend.

   In all our lives, it's never been more important for a candidate to have an endorsement than ANY Republican in a primary right now.  President Trump runs his record to 118-0 in primary endorsements for Governors, Senators and House reps as Ken Paxton just obliterates John Cornyn in Texas.  And some people yawned when Ty Masterson got Trump's endorsement for Kansas Governor?  Nobody has ever had control of an electorate like Trump does and it's spectacular.
   An MLB exec is caught on tape saying all kinds of crazy things including that he's a communist and ball players on his team are characters "in silly costumes."  You gotta hear this as, shocker, it's in our nation's capitol.
   There are 16 host sites for the upcoming World Cup and at least one survey ranks KC as the dead last worst place.  They gave reasons you can't really argue.
    The Chiefs release video of Patrick Mahomes practicing at OTA's Tuesday and he just looks great!  Travis Kelce is buying a piece of his hometown baseball team.  The Royals futulity reaches another all time low.  NBA Finals ticket prices are out of control and we tell you the number one most searched word in America for people looking how to spell it.

   We begin the new week with a couple people me and my mom would like to slap (not that we would) and then move on to Trump's grand plan for Iran if they can get a deal signed.  It's something great for America and would represent a total reset of how a more peaceful world would operate.
   Kansas Senate President Ty Masterson is running for governor and just got the endorsement from President Trump.  This is a really big deal.
   Spencer Pratt is running for mayor of LA and has released new artwork on a campaign poster that mocks Barack Obama.  Bruce Springsteen is caught sitting down in concert and reading political slams at Trump and Elon off a teleprompter.
   KU baseball is the most fun baseball team to watch around here since the Royals won the World Series in 2015.  Royals manager Matt Quatraro has absolutely had a terrible season leading this team and nothing worse that the use of his closer the past two days.
   The Indy 500 was crazy great, the NY Knicks are creating the highest ticket prices in the history of the Finals and a man robs a bank for $1 for the craziest reason ever.

The state of Kansas has about a thousand issues Missouri doesn't have.  Eight years with a Dem governor will have that effect.  The state is 43rd in America in average income.  The state income tax is the highest in the region and for 2 million people it's a 3-6 hour U-Haul to zero state tax in Texas.   The population is shrinking and that's very rare for a red state.   
   Missouri is working toward zero percent income tax and the exodus of Kansas residents to Missouri would be an eastern moving tidal wave in KC.  The budget has soared over 60% for no good reason at all.    Oh, and the government schools are a total mess as they scream for more money from Topeka.
   Jeff Colyer was governor for a year in 2018-19.  He left a surplus and a record of transparency and accountability.  It's long gone.
   Governor Colyer is back after a full life as a surgeon, volunteer surgeon around the globe and years of public service in his home state.  He appears to be the frontrunner in a really crowed field for governor and here's here to tell you what he's planning to do to clean up the mess. 
   Then, in our Final Final, a 177 year old brand that reminds me of my dad closes down. 

   Ok, there is one thing we can all agree on.  Rashee Rice is not worthy of playing for the Kansas City Chiefs.  The terrible teammate, terrible friend and terrible partner is a continuing crap show that isn't good enough to stay.  Reports, as he's in jail for 30 days, indicate he broke his probation by getting high.  Other reports try to tamp it down and say this should have been served a year ago.  Then another report that he's hurt and out for two months.  Stop.  Just stop.
   On to less controversial things like NPR having two listeners, yes two, that gave them gifts totaling $113 million and they still want to lay off employees. 
  The Trump ballroom is suddenly a military installation and security facility for the White House.  Yes please.
   Bill Self opens up with the Athletic and his non retirement sounds even more confusing.
   The new, biggest star in the NBA should be the last straw that leads to raising the hoop a foot and making the court bigger.
   I got an email from a strange source encouraging me to get FIFA Fan Fest tickets.  This doesn't pass the smell test.
   And in our Final Final an overnight clerk at and Exxon station tries to steal money without hurting his employer and gets arrested.
