Ok, there is one thing we can all agree on. Rashee Rice is not worthy of playing for the Kansas City Chiefs. The terrible teammate, terrible friend and terrible partner is a continuing crap show that isn't good enough to stay. Reports, as he's in jail for 30 days, indicate he broke his probation by getting high. Other reports try to tamp it down and say this should have been served a year ago. Then another report that he's hurt and out for two months. Stop. Just stop.
On to less controversial things like NPR having two listeners, yes two, that gave them gifts totaling $113 million and they still want to lay off employees.
The Trump ballroom is suddenly a military installation and security facility for the White House. Yes please.
Bill Self opens up with the Athletic and his non retirement sounds even more confusing.
The new, biggest star in the NBA should be the last straw that leads to raising the hoop a foot and making the court bigger.
I got an email from a strange source encouraging me to get FIFA Fan Fest tickets. This doesn't pass the smell test.
And in our Final Final an overnight clerk at and Exxon station tries to steal money without hurting his employer and gets arrested.

Chris Stigall has done it all in conservative talk radio and podcasting and he's learned it's just not enough to talk about what's wrong. That's why he's running for Congress, to have a chance to DO what's right. Chris is a born and bred Missourian with deep roots in District 6 and while I don't have a vote, I can tell you his is the perfect successor to the retiring Sam Graves.
Chris is smart, funny, loyal and conservative as all get out. He's a Christian that sees (and knows) America would never have happened without humble faith.
Most of all, he's a friend. I'm biased here, folks. You can't do better than voting for www.stigallforcongress.com. He's got a Campaign Kickoff BBQ in Kearney at the Updike Barn Tuesday night from 6-7:30 pm and he'd love you meet you. Even if you don't live in in his district, you will enjoy hanging out with these great folks.

After Mayor Q took to Facebook to blame property owners and business owners for the change at iconic Town Topic Burgers to not stay open 24 hours, you had to figure he'd hear from them. And man, has he. We have the deets.
A clearly liberal judge in Lawrence has decided that the new law in Kansas to keep adults from mutilating their kids and pouring drugs in them they weren't born to have... shouldn't be a law at all. This has ACLU money all over it.
JD Vance is headed to KC, Trump warns Iran again and Cuba may be thinking of firing a couple drones at Americans as their oil has pretty much run out.
The Royals horrible road trip ends with a win. One win.
Andy Reid does a series of interviews and they all ask him about Mahomes week one. I found the best, most complete explanation of it all and will play it here.
Eli Manning tells a great Marty Schottenheimer story, the NFL has "rest disparity" now and when dudes win in girls sports in California now, they have a special podium for both winners.
In our Final Final, a big name celebrity cancels his singing tour as apparently nobody knew he had a band.

This is the crazy story of some very typical, ornery high school baseball players in the '80's that found crazy success playing ball. And we had a teammate, Curt Whitaker that could sing and play guitar and we never knew it. When he decided, "why not?," he started KC's best cover band. The www.m80skc.com have played with Chicago, Train and others at Starlight and almost everyone that played at Knuckleheads as the totally fun 80's band. They dress the part and it's always a fun night out.
Curt was a very talented pitcher that played in college and independent pro ball until his shoulder gave out. He worked, like the rest of us, and one day in his thirties he had an idea. This is a great convo about why the hell not pursue your American Dream.

You wish Ryan Levebvre lived next door. You want to know him, trust me.
He is now the broadcaster that Baseball Hall of Famer Denny Mathews always wanted to hand it off to. All the Royals asked him to do this year is to bring in former players into the booth and coach them up about how insanely hard this biz can be. Ryan opens up about Rex Hudler's smaller role, the growth of Jermie Guthrie (and his popcorn crush like podboy) and Ryan's new series on the Royals You Tube channel. It starts with an emotional convo with Eric Hosmer about Yordano Ventura and the World Series team. Watch it on You Tube.
The season is young and John Sherman's new Crown Center ballpark is the greatest gift to KC baseball since Mr. Ewing Kauffman saved our original, favorite pastime sport. Hit the play button and share with your Royals fans friends.

President Trump is off to China with the heaviest heavy hitters America has. Business, Government, Investment, Energy.... it's a full press as he has slowed China's oil flow and looks to broker big plans for America, and maybe, the rest of the world.
Alberta is ready to have a vote to leave Canada, we have a couple experts with all the reasons and a promise its happening... at least someday.
The Olathe School Board sits in front of a mom that lost her son and crushes her yet again. Who are these people?
The Chiefs open at home on Monday night football against the broncos and the rest of the schedule is ready to bust out. Footnote: this pod was recorded before we knew if the game would be in KC or Denver. It's KC.
Mizzou runningback Ahmad Hardy is recovering from gunshot wounds in one of the biggest mystery stories of the off season.
A former Royal tells a story about playing for Bobby Cox in Atlanta and how they faked an injury so the player could leave the game and play 27 holes with Tiger Woods.
And our Final Final is for the birds.

KKHI Special: Remembering Jim Colbert
Tuesday May 12, 2026
Tuesday May 12, 2026
This one is personal as we have lost a dear friend with the passing of 28 time PGA Tour winner Jim Colbert at age 85.
We are thinking of Marcia and the entire Colbert family but in the sadness and grief of loss is a flood of memories of a man that was so much more than a professional golfer. The drive that it took to win on tour was the same effort he put into his relationships, businesses, fundraising and even meaningless golf and carnival games against his buddies. Jim lived a great and full life just like he promised Marcia when they were in high school.
My hope is you will know Jim well by listening to this podcast... I even get Jack Harry out of retirement to share a few "Colbert" stories with us as Jack was Jim's favorite partner to kick my tail on the course.

Sunday President Trump said Iran's proposal regarding nukes and enrichment for weapons is "totally unacceptable." So what's next? This could get rough again.
The head of Homeland Security made a stop in KC to speak about needing more funding for his agency and in the process just ripped in to Congressman Emanuel Cleaver.
The Missouri Supreme Court starts hearing cases Tuesday on whether the new congressional map in the state is legal.
In sports, the Royals can't get the sweep and head out on the road this week. KU baseball gets swept at home by West Virginia but can still win the Big 12 regular season title. Ricky Fowler never wins at golf and a record is set on the Price is Right for our Final Final.

It won't be a big story down the road as Crown Center is about to be boom town in KC but it's notable right now that a long vacant piece of land the city has done absolutely nothing with now has a plan. Just a couple weeks after the Royals announce, and old abandoned lot is going to be home to at least 150 new residents. This is going to spread like fire.
The Royals completely punt their chance at dealing a blow to Cleveland by dropping the last two games of a four game set. And... many of their most loyal and avid fans are livid at a new tv deal they are offering.
We asked for your questions about auto repair and what to look for in used cars and Robbie Brooks from www.robertsrobinson.com is here to answer them.
And another listener has enlisted AI to produce my idea for a country song called Three Beer Lawn and we will play it for you.

Our theme today at KKHI is a whole bunch of messes people are cleaning up. Hawaiian Bros is a fast food chain that originated in KC and their Royals promotion of giving away free lunch when the Royals score 6 or more was just crushing their business. So they've changed it. It reminds me of the historic, high scoring Chiefs of 2002 and 2003 when I started the "Custard's Last Stand" Club that featured our radio sponsors giving percentage discounts equal to the points the Chiefs scored the day before. Get this: We even sold brand new cars for half price. It was chaos.
Fresh off is appearance as fill in White House Press Secretary, Marco Rubio is now the odds on favorite to be president according to prediction site Kalshi.
A family gets a free pool and you won't believe how this happened. A college women's soccer team gets beaten by a 13 year old boys team. Golden Tempo won't run in the Preakness and that's a lame as it gets and the NY Times isn't going away any time soon.
