Kevin Kietzman Has Issues

Marty Schottenheimer was tough, bold and fair.  Covering him on a daily basis was truly an honor and one of the most memorable things of my life.  One of only 8 coaches to win 200 games, Martyball lives on forever.  Even if you thought it was a negative term.  I'll explain.  Brady vs Badger continues and both have plenty of critics chiming in as we learn more about what happened.  Patrick Mahomes continues to have lady problems as his mom and fiance got really weird on social media.  The Dems are proving once again how petty and unserious there are with new fixations on Trump.  And the most absurd thing you'll hear this week. 

Just because so many of us want to forget the game itself, it doesn't mean there isn't plenty of other stuff to talk about.  From Kevin Harlan's great call of the streaker, and why the man did it, to commercials that fell as flat as Tom Brady's apology, we've got it for you.  Lots of loose ends to tie up around Super Bowl LV.

Chris Stigall had me on KCMO Talk Radio Monday after the Super Bowl and we didn't spend a lot of time on the game.  A big part of our conversation is the tragic story of 5 year old Ariel in the hospital after Chiefs assistant Britt Reid apparently slammed into the car she was in.  The pictures of her are heartbreaking and a Go Fund Me page has hit $325,000 for the family.

This was unthinkable.  The Chiefs didn't score a touchdown in Super Bowl 55 as Tampa did the hardest thing to do in team sports.  We explain what that is and talk about all the important little things the Chiefs did wrong.  Sometimes, you tip your cap to the other guy and that's where the Chiefs are.  Also, Stan Weber on the x's and o's of what went wrong.  This was a game to forget.

Chiefs coach Britt Reid, son of head coach Andy Reid, was involved in an accident that leaves a five year old child in the hospital with life threatening injuries.  I have exclusive details of the Application for Search Warrant and Britt Reid's criminal background.  It's more than troubling. 

Sometimes what the big stars say before a big game matters.  Most times it doesn't.  I think comments by Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce and Tyreek Hill is foreshadowing of what's to come.  It sounds crazy for a furniture guy to bet $3.5 million on Tampa but when you hear the rest of the story, you'll find out why it all makes sense.  And Candace Owens is a rock star.  If you don't know who she is, you have to hear what she did to AOC this week in a battle between a person of substance that is real versus a total fake.  Wow.

Super Bowl prop bets are so much fun, even if you don't play them.  They are fantastic conversation at your watch party during pregame.  Will there be more than 4 commercials with dogs?  Will official Sarah Thomas wear her hair in a pony tail or inside her ball cap?  Will Travis Kelce get 100 yards?  These are the things Vegas comes up with and our man Lee Sterling of Paramount Sports has some fun with a few and some serious tips about others. 

It was bound to happen as the queen of exaggeration AOC is caught in a lie about her harrowing brush with death at the Capitol when "conservative terrorists, the enemy within," plotted to kill her.  Oops.  She was in her office in a different building.  Ouch.  The CEO of Parler is fired, he and shareholder Dan Bongino have differing opinions why.  Danny Clinkscale is her to talk about the Chiefs and Bucs.  The Missouri Tigers get a big win and KU officials say they came up $30m short of projections because of Covid.

Trent Green has built quite a career at CBS Sports after setting all kinds of passing records for the Kansas City Chiefs.  As he watches Patrick Mahomes take down most of those gaudy numbers, nobody could be happier.  Trent is a big part of Kansas City through his work in media, with the Chiefs and of course to the Ronald McDonald House.  This is a great conversation about football, plain and simple.  If you want to get smarter about the game, listen to this podcast before Super Bowl LV.
