Kevin Kietzman Has Issues

   I had to wait a couple days to actually make sure the story of the Superintendent of the Des Moines School District is true.  It's so outrageously unbelievable that ICE picked him up and arrested him that it can only be the beginning of many, many more white collar scammers in our country getting caught.
   President Trump scores another big settlement against a media giant and is creating quite a large bankroll for his presidential library.   It comes on the heels of a possible government shutdown for "non essential" agencies and employees at midnight tonight.  Count me in. I voted for ending non-essential.
   The NFL appears to have an "effort" problem from several players this past weekend and its something they've never had to deal with.  They'd better get their arms around this fast or they would be risking the core reason people love the league.
   The Chiefs defense continues to get zero credit as they reached another milestone streak on Sunday, the baseball playoffs start with a couple epic wild card series and our Final Final is a celebrity couple on the rocks.
   

   Patrick Mahomes was as great as he ever was Sunday as Xavier Worthy returned to action.  The Chiefs never looked better.  Now, the Ravens defense may give the Cowboys a run for worst in the NFL but that doesn't matter right now.  The Chiefs have erased their 0-2 start with a pair of season saving wins and may have just flipped the bird to the world that had them dead and buried.
   Lamar Jackson turned it over twice and wound up on the bench with a hammy strain, I'd say the defense did its job brilliantly.  Meanwhile, the Chargers lose and KC is now only one back in the division.
   We recap a wild college football Saturday that saw Kansas State completely change its offensive scheme in an easy win over UCF.  KU is so easy to watch and Jalon Daniels was brilliant but Cincinnati took advantage of a KU defense that's acting like it wants to be the worst in the Big 12.  Beau Pribula sets a record in Columbia for the Tigers in a win over UMASS.
   The Ryder Cup turned into a crap show this weekend, boy do I have some grievances. Chase Elliott wins a double overtime thriller at Kansas Speedway and I"m here to save you some money today if you'd like a cup of coffee.

   It's a jam packed Friday episode as former FBI Director James Comey will reportedly surrender to authorities for an indictment on two charges including perjury in Congress.  
   President Trump will attend the Ryder Cup on Long Island in New York which is one of the wildest sporting events in history.  Wait until you hear what Irishman Rory McIlroy has to say about the United States of America.
  Then, we lock in on football as the Chiefs prep for the Ravens.  The stars of the singing show "The Voice" chime in chorus about their favorite team and Stan Weber joins us for all things football this week.
  Then, Lee Sterling of www.paramountsports.com has our point spread picks after going 5-0 on KKHI last week.  And our Final Final is a short personal note about what our Sunday afternoon will be like.

   Let's shift from all the bad in the world to a couple really great stories about two individuals that are the best among us.
   Then, a Wichita developer has made a huge purchase that could be related to the Royals, we'll tell you where.
  A gay website called "Queerty" has decided to attack Harrison Butker in the weakest of ways.  The Chiefs are clearly over scrutinized as a global website is quoting a lip reader about what Andy shouted at Travis Kelce Sunday night.  You have to hear this.
   The NFL is busting out record ratings after blasting Nielson Company for being inaccurate.  Tom Brady says something really, really stupid.
   Mizzou has the leading Heisman candidate 1/3 of the way into the season. This is the best regular season sports weekend of the year and a very mean squirrel is attacking people out on walks.

   We have so many topics today they won't all fit in the headline so hang in there as we cover it all.  We start with the epidemic of teen crime in KC as it's obvious many young thugs know they can't get in trouble.  Sunday night at a concert in KC at T-Mobile center, a large, developed, strong "minor" beat the living daylights out of an old man usher.   It's just awful.  You have to hear this story.
   It was quite a day for President Trump as he put the United Nations on blast, warned Russia and watch his would be assassin convicted on all five counts.  But as he joked about the escalator not working at the U.N., it appears to be deliberate.  We have the deets.
   Jimmy Kimmel returns and says some very nice things about Erica Kirk but also admitted he's not changing anyone's mind about anything.  So what's the point?  Why not just entertain?
   It looks like Salvy is back next year for the Royals and we dive in to a pair of other stories.  One MLB player was at Charlie Kirk's memorial as a guest of Erica and isn't apologizing to anyone for leaving his team for a bit.  And have you been watching the Royals division the last 10 days or so?  It's looking like Detroit it about to blow it and maybe miss the playoffs entirely.
   Mike Gundy is out at Oklahoma State football and he's always been one of my faves.  More drama at the Ryder Cup between Rory and Bryson.  Fans are unhappy that ESPN has added a new guest to Monday Night Football Countdown and the Missouri man that won the $1.7 billion Powerball has a plan for his future.

  Jimmy Kimmel survives as Disney announces a return of his late night show Tuesday.  But at least one major station group will not be airing the show just yet.  The long term survival of this show is anything but guaranteed.
   The memorial service for Charlie Kirk was glorious to see and the words of his widow Erica serve as an inspiration to all of us
   As president Trump prepares to address the United Nations, he signs an Executive Order declaring ANTIFA a domestic terrorist group.  We'll explain why this is likely the of the road for this organization.
  Kamala blasts Trump and CEO's and absolutely nobody cares, a woman gets a surprise at Starbucks in Ohio and Spiderman  goes to the hospital.
   The Chiefs are alive after that must win victory over the Giants.  Johnny Dare is named Grand Marshall at Kansas Speedway this week, Bruce Pearl hangs it up at Auburn and the Ryder Cup already has some drama surrounding golf's greatest team event.

   Hey, the Chiefs win but that's not today's podcast.  Instead, it's a great chat with our long time friend Danni Boatwright talking about her new show on Fox Wednesday night, her career as a model and broadcaster and her great family.  Yes, she's married to a former football player and raising two teenage boys.  One of them is starting a Turning Point chapter at his high school.  This is good stuff.
   Then, a debate with first amendment attorney Bernie Rhodes from KC who says Jimmy Kimmel has a lawsuit against the FCC.  This is spicy.

   The very close friend standing just a few yards away from Charlie Kirk, Frank Turek, details the mayhem when Kirk was shot and the car ride to the hospital.  This isn't for everyone but its really powerful and important and I want to share it with you.
  As Trump flew back from the UK, he slams London's mayor, trashes Ilhan Omar and expresses his deep love for our strongest ally.  He really, really wants to help make them better.
   A boutique in Mission, KS is selling shirts that read, "Is he dead yet?" and yes, they are are about Trump.  We'll give you the deets and let you go to work contacting them or telling all your friends to stay away.
   I've got a scouting report for you on the NY Giants Sunday night.  Shocker, they have an offensive weapon the Chiefs simply don't have.
    Mizzou plays South Carolina, a team with a QB that was a Heisman fave.  Turns out the Tigers may have two players now with better chances of making it to NY.
   KU is playing in London next year.  They announce the decision as they get ready for West Virginia.

   ABC Late Night host Jimmy Kimmel is off the air indefinitely and critics are blasting this as an attack on free speech.  It's everything but an attack on free speech.  Kimmel has had free reign to say whatever he wants and be so wrong and mean and pathetic for so long, this is just capitalism winning again.  I'll set this all straight for those that think he's being silenced.
   KKHI listeners just bombarded KU with calls and emails on Wednesday as Brianna Wasser is still employed.  The school rakes in over $400 million a year from federal taxpayers and says they can't get rid of a woman that called Charlie Kirk "worm food."   The feds need to get involved if the Kansas governor wants to ignore this.
   A lawyer for one of the victims in the Rashee Rice caused car crash is livid over the "Free 4" tee shirts Travis Kelce and others wore Sunday.  Wait until you hear what he has to say.
   Yet another NFL team is building a brand new NFL stadium instead of renovating.  And get this... the deal this team is getting is exactly the opposite of what the Chiefs would get in Kansas.  This team is paying 73 percent of costs and only getting 27% from the government.
   The NCAA is cleaning up the transfer portal for college football in a pretty simple way.  Salvy hits another bomb as Cole Ragans returns and in our Final Final... we'll tell you how much it costs to dine at 1587 Steakhouse.

   As we close in on five years of KKHI I can honestly say I've never seen a reaction from listeners like the past week. Everyone is upset and motivated after the assassination of Charlie Kirk and we all want to do something. It's inspiring for sure.  It's been mostly good news of people on the left losing their jobs after saying horrible things about this tragedy.   But KU is standing by the employee that referred to Kirk as "worm food."  This can't stand.  Let's get busy and call 785.864.2700 or email publicaffairs@ku.edu and let them know how you feel.

   Media reports indicate Xavier Worthy is likely to play Sunday night in NY against the Giants.  If he does, it appears he will be playing with a torn labrum.
   It was a record night at Kauffman Stadium for Seattle's "Big Dumper."   He broke a record set by Mickey Mantle.  KC's Carter Jensen also had a huge night and this sure bodes well for the future.
   A single cocktail at the US Open made them enough money to pay the first place prizes for the men's and women's singles champs.  Wait until you hear how much one drink made.  And our Final Final is a celebrity that truly needs help with his TDS.
